Design Intelligence Award "DIA" is the first international academic design award to celebrate exceptional design innovators and entrepreneurs by China Academy of Art
During this year’s Nairobi Design Week 2023 festival, the DIA Finalists were announced, with nine Kenyan entries selected for this prestigious award. One of the standout entries was the 'Twiga Mwangaza' created by Kashyap Gohel, a graduate architect who received an Honorable Mention Award. His innovative desk lamp was inspired by the African Giraffe and its unique feeding habits, featuring an adjustable design that resembles a giraffe munching on Acacia tree leaves.

As the first international academy award for industrial design in China, they are committed to promoting the core values of "Intelligence of Humanity, Wisdom of Life, Fusion of Tech & Art, Brain of Industry." With this year’s categories of Cultural Innovation, Life Wisdom, Industrial Equipment, and Digital Economy under the theme "Design Evolution".
The registration deadline for the competition is June 30, 2023 (GMT+8) 24:00. Nairobi Design calls on Kenyan designers to sign up and apply through the DIA official website (www.en.di-award.org) .
